Summer Trip to Washington Part 3 - East Side Again

Had just a little business to clean up back on the east side when we got back, which we took care of in one trip up to Pend Oreille County, adding three birds. A Ruffed Grouse flew across the road on the way up, which I thought was going to be the only one I'd see all year, but I wound up flushing a group of them on a hike up in the north woods of Wisconsin with my staff in August. Lewis's and Three-toed made my 18 woodpecker year possible.

Summer Trip to Washington Part 2 - West Side

Continuation... big highlight here, in addition to the ever-entertaining coastal birding, were the Hermit Warblers, which were state lifers for both my dad and me. Capitol Forest was hoppin' in late June, gotta get back there someday.

And by the end of this part of the trip, I had cracked the top 5 in the nation as of July 1:

Well, I never got around to blogging through my Washington trip this summer, where I added 40+ species for my ABA year list. So, I'm just going to throw together three quick posts here with the screen shot of the birds I added in the different parts of the trip - east side, west side, then back to the east side - along with a few pics.
